Obituary for Ralph F. Mango Jr.

Ralph F.  Mango Jr.
GOSHEN - Ralph F. Mango Jr., 67, formerly of Oakville, passed away on April 17, 2015. He was the husband of Kathy (Hill) Mango for 45 years.

Born in Waterbury on August 1, 1947, he was the son of Virginia (Ramponi) Mango and the late Ralph F. Mango.

Ralph was a proud United States Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War in the 4th Infantry 1st Cavalry “67-68” and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Air Medal.

Ralph worked for the Town of Watertown for 23 years. He was a member of the Rocky River Coon Club, Northwest Rod and Gun Club, and was a life member of the VFW, most recently Post 6851 in Canaan.

He was meticulously proud of his home in Goshen where he resided since 1985 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, Classic Cars and his ’38 Chevy.

In addition to his loving wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Matthew Mango; a brother, David Mango; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Przybyloski.

Ralph will be remembered as a friend and brother to all who knew him.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Staff of the V.A. of West Haven, VNA Northwest and Goshen Hospice.

Funeral services will be Friday April 24, at 9:30 am from Rowe Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 71 North Street, Goshen. Burial with full military honors will follow in Westside Cemetery, Goshen. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield.

Memorial donations may be made to VNA Northwest, Goshen Hospice or the VFW Building Fund., 104 S Canaan Rd, Canaan, CT 06018.
