Late on the night of Tyler's birth, I forget the exact time, we got a call from Vin saying that Kim was in labor and had to go the hospital . We agreed to meet at the commuter lot up the street from where we lived in Middlebury to pick up Ryan, Tyler's older brother. Well, when Vin was passing Ryan through the window of our car, a police car pulled in and the officer demanded to know what was taking place with this kid coming in our car window. We said our daughter is in labor and needs to get to the hospital . He offered to give them a police escort to make sure they got to the hospital safely which he did, and we were grateful for. Soon after that, we went to see our second grandson, which was our beautiful and precious Tyler.
