Ruth Arlene Moscaritolo, 87, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Torrington, CT. She was a longtime resident of Torrington. Ruth was the wife of the late Carmen Moscaritolo, Jr. She was born on August 7, 1929 to the late Edwin and Marion (Peggy) Gillman.

Ruth grew up in Thomaston. She worked for many years at Stop and Shop in Torrington and Bristol. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and knitting.

She is survived by children; Shirley Rogers and her husband William of Torrington and Thomas Moscaritolo of Watertown, grandchildren; Kenneth Moscaritolo and Gregg Moscaritolo and his wife Ashley, and great grandchildren Edward and Allison Moscaritolo. She is also survived by brothers; Thomas Gillman and his wife Diane and Arthur Gillman, several nieces and nephews and faithful companion; her dog Daisy.

Ruth’s family would like to thank Heart to Heart Home Care, Visiting Nurse Association, Dr. Moskowitz, the doctors and nurses at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Darlene Misani for their exceptional care and love they have shown Ruth.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Friends and family may visit from 10:00-11:00am on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield.

A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am at Rowe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Torrington, CT.
