LITCHFIELD – Carolyn F. Baldwin, 92, passed away on December 3, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of 56 years to the late Clarence D. Baldwin.

Born in Waterbury on September 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late S. Carl and Ethel M. (Smith) Fischer.

Carolyn was a lifelong Litchfield resident, graduating from Litchfield High School. She also graduated from the Torrington Business School and worked as a secretary in the Litchfield School System for 26 years. She was also a licensed Funeral Director and assisted her grandfather in business.

Mrs. Baldwin was a past president of the Litchfield Women’s Club, was a former Registrar of Voters for 12 years, and performed many weddings as a Justice of the Peace.

Family was most important to Carolyn and her children and grandchildren were always her top priority.

She also enjoyed traveling and playing cards and was an animal lover and advocate.

Mrs. Baldwin is survived by two sons, George Baldwin and his wife, Jennifer, and Guy Baldwin; a daughter, Cynthia Blazek; a sister, Candace Vincent; two grandsons, Spencer Baldwin and Christopher Blazek; a granddaughter, Brittany O’Neil; and two great grandchildren, Joseph and Sophia Blazek.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at The First Congregational Church of Litchfield, 21 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
