Henry H. Camp, Harwinton died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Henry was born September 28, 1926 in New Milford, Connecticut to Herbert and Signe (Carlson) Camp. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn, in 2012.
As a teenager, Henry came to Harwinton to live and work on his uncle’s dairy farm and was its proud owner for many years. He served the town of Harwinton in many capacities; most notably as a charter member of the Harwinton Volunteer Fire Department and as the town’s First Selectman.
He will be deeply missed by his brother Frederick, of New Milford, his son, Stephen and his daughter-in-law, Lori, of Harwinton, his granddaughters Mallory Bissett and her husband Jonathan of Somerville, Massachusetts and Kelly, of New York City along with many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Hilda Douglass.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Harwinton Volunteer Fire Department, 158 Burlington Road, Harwinton, Connecticut 06791.
Family and friends may call at Rowe Funeral Home, Litchfield, Connecticut on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
