Leo Paul Sr., 86, died peacefully February 22, 2015 surrounded by his family at Brandywine. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Sullivan) Paul. He was born on January 8, 1929 in Fall River Massachusetts to the late Platt and Lillian (Guimond) Paul.

Leo retired in 1989 from the Connecticut Air National Guard as a Sr. Master Sergeant. He had served for more than 32 years, 13 of which were active duty. He was awarded the top Air National Guard recruiter in the U.S. in 1979.

In addition to his love of family, church and country, Leo loved the sport of Judo. He was a longtime practitioner and sensei which he continued well into his seventies and had achieved the rank of 6th degree black belt.

Leo is survived by his three children Leo Paul, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Litchfield, CT, Donnalee Scioscio of Windsor Locks, CT and Cherylann Ledoux and her husband David of Andover, CT; five grandchildren Stephen Paul and his wife Loray, Kimberly Salvatore and her husband Marc, Joel Scioscio, David Ledoux Jr. and his wife Krystn, and Bill Ledoux and his wife Paula; three great grandchildren Colin Paul, and Sydney and Logan Ledoux; two brothers Normand Paul and his wife Doris of Maine and Robert Paul and his wife Linda of Arizona; two sisters Estelle Bonas and her husband Lawrence of Plainville and Carol LaBarre and her husband James of Arizona along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Laurence Scioscio.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 13 at 11 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield, CT. There will be no calling hours. Entombment with Military Honors will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA on Friday May 15, at 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
