Obituary for Hugh Lester Bronson

Hugh Lester Bronson, 83, passed away on November 5, 2014 following a brief illness, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Rae Emmons Bronson for 60 years. Hugh was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on September 30, 1931 to the late Lester Bronson and Dorothy Hill Bronson. He was also predeceased by his step-father, Herman Anderson.

Hugh was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He loved spending time with his family and his dog, Heidi. He was an avid New York Giants and UConn Huskies fan. He loved all things Disney and enjoyed many visits to the parks. Hugh also enjoyed golf having worked at the Pro Shop at the Canaan Country Club for many years after his retirement.

In addition to his loving and devoted wife Rae, he is survived by three sons; William Bronson and wife Joyce of Feeding Hills, MA, Alan Bronson and wife Suzy of Bantam, Connecticut, James Bronson of Morris, CT, five grandchildren; Kristine Bronson, Amy Christy and husband Mat, Derek Bronson, Ali Bronson and Kelly Bronson, four great grandchildren; Amber, Hunter, Jackson and Reid, a brother Herman Anderson and wife Ann, a sister Ruth Plumb and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister Doris Panteli.

The Memorial service is private. Burial with military honors will take place in the spring time, in East Morris Cemetery.
