Obituary for Robert Warren Storm Sr.

Robert Warren Storm Sr. age 67 of Salisbury, CT died August 17, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.

Bob was born in Sharon, Ct on May 7th, 1947 to G. Warren Storm and Olive (Hotaling) Storm. He is survived by his wife Dianne L. (Paulsen) Storm, son Robert W. Storm Jr and wife Alison (Barrows) Storm, son Jason K. Storm, grandchildren Colby T. Storm, Rebecca L. Storm, Luke W. Storm, Sarah N. Storm, Oliver H. Storm and a sister Lesa (Storm) Russin.
Bob graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in 1965 and spent 4 years in the US Air Force. He was married to Dianne on June 19th, 1971. He worked for 33 years at LPM/ ITW and 10 years at Salisbury Garden Center. While coaching his son’s Little League teams he not only savored the times spent with his boys, but got to know many in the community. Because of his hardwork and dedication to a task or project, he taught and inspired a great work ethic. Nothing brought greater smiles to his face than playing, teasing and joking around with his grandchildren. More recently, he kept in touch with those he has engaged with over the years by being a daily DJ and weatherman on Facebook.
Bob, Bobby, Stormy, Honey, Dad, Grampa… he was loved by many and many and to several of those friends and family he gave nicknames; Gayha, Nanadu, Duper, Cardude, Dot Russers, Rahah, Colbster and many more…
He was a wonderful grandfather, making funny words up, working hard to convince everyone that he ate worms from his basement. He was good at getting slivers out of little fingers and made funny faces, not to soothe, but to distract the tears. Known by many, loved by all.

A wake will be held at Rowe Funeral Home in Litchfield CT on Friday August 22nd from 5pm to 8pm. Services will be held at the Sharon Congregational Church, 25 Main Street, on Saturday August 23rd at 10:30 am, with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Sharon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 582, Salisbury, CT 06068 for their incredible dedication.
