Cecile Fallows, 93, passed away peacefully August 5th at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canaan, CT. She was the wife of the late Gerry Fallows and a long-time resident of Yarmouth Port and West Yarmouth. She was born June 8, 1921 in New Rochelle, NY, daughter of the late Theresa M.(Tschnett) and Henry S. Niewenhous. She attended schools in New Rochelle and White Plains, NY, as well as in Bonn, Germany and Montreal, Canada. At the Penn Hall School in Chambersburg, PA, she studied art and was active in the German club. Following college, she was employed for 44 years in animation cartooning, working at a number of animation studios on various productions, including “The Berenstain Bears Christmas Tree” television special in 1979. For many years she lived near her family in New Rochelle, NY and Weston, CT, moving to Cape Cod in 1984. On the Cape she enjoyed gardening, golf, needlepoint, ballroom dancing, singing with the Mid-Cape Chorus, and many activities at the Yarmouth Senior Center. She is predeceased by a step-granddaughter, Beth Fornaciari, by her brothers Charles and Henry Niewenhous, and by her sister Therese Nolan. She is survived by her step-son, Robert Fallows of Warrenton, VA, step-grandsons, Timothy Fallows of Plymouth, Christopher Fallows of Chicago, Nick Fallows of Virginia, Matt Fallows of California, as well as two step-great-grandsons, Reid and Gage and a great-granddaughter, Logan. She is also survived by her nieces Sherrie Simerman of Goshen, CT, Christine Russock of New Milford, CT and Beth Niewenhous of Weston, CT and her nephews, Jerry Niewenhous of Plymouth, MN, and David Slavin of Deerfield Beach, FL.
