Obituary for Thomas S. Waugh
Thomas S. Waugh, 82, formerly of Lakeside, Connecticut, passed away on May 2, 2020 in Sebring, Florida. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth A. Waugh. Thomas was born on April 29, 1938 in Torrington, Connecticut to the late Herbert T. and Gertrude (Scherier) Waugh.
He attended Wamogo and Oliver Wolcott Tech High Schools and went to Post College. He was a Proprietor for Fairview Service Station for 50 years. Tom enjoyed participating in Lumber Jack competitions for many years.
He was a member of Morris Congregational Church and St. Paul’s Masonic Lodge, #11, Past 3A District Deputy. Tom was a past president for Blue Lodge Council, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Northfield Grange and the Automotive Service Association. He also served as a president for the ASA Credit Union of Manchester.
In addition to his wife, Betty, Tom is survived by his four daughters; Tammy Moreau of Portland, CT, Catherine Samel of Torrington, CT, Linda Buckley (Joe) of Bantam, CT and Sandra Moreau of Florida. Thomas was also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Waugh and his sister Ruth Ann Waugh.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 11:00am at Lakeside Cemetery, Lakeside. Friends and family may call from 4:00 – 6:00pm on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield.
