Obituary for Thomas Neil Graveline

Thomas Neil Graveline, 16, passed away from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on June 9, 2020. He was born in Litchfield, CT on September 5, 2003, to Jeffrey Graveline and Jennifer (Dowd) Graveline and was the younger brother to Sophia Graveline.

Thomas was a rising Senior at Litchfield High School, where he stood out as a talented baseball and hockey player. He also played for the Watertown Youth Hockey Association and Tri-Town Baseball. Thomas was a self-taught musician, mastering the guitar, piano, and ukulele. As an avid fisherman, he was known to fall in the water quite a bit but never gave up. He taught himself and his friends how to sail. Through video gaming, he enjoyed being a part of a close online community of friends.

In addition to his loving parents and sister, he leaves family, friends and community to honor his memory including maternal grandmother Marie McFadden and Tom Reinhardt of Litchfield; maternal grandfather Brian Dowd of North Carolina; paternal grandparents Stanley and Rosalie Graveline of Cape Cod; Aunt Cameron, cousins Madeline, Margaret and Matthew Bove of Litchfield; Uncle Gregson Pullen and Aunt Audrey Gilbert, cousins Noelle Rebusmen and Finn Pullen of Saugerties, NY; Uncle John and Aunt Chris, cousins Holly and Justine Souchack of New Rochelle, NY; Uncle Stephen and Aunt Peg, cousins Jonathan, Matthew and Elizabeth Graveline from NH, Uncle Stanley and Aunt Karen, cousins Lydia and Lyle Graveline from Maryland and Uncle Grant and Lauren, cousins Dean and Beck Carrier from Maine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Lourdes Shrine, 83 Montfort Road, Litchfield, CT 06759. We ask you to please adhere to the Archdiocese of Hartford guidelines located at archdioceseofhartford.org/coronavirus. Friends and family may call Friday, June 12 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT 06759. Everyone attending calling hours are kindly asked to adhere to proper social distancing requirements. Burial will be private.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Litchfield Community Center at 1:00 on Saturday. Please note, due to Covid-19 precautions, guests are asked to bring their own refreshments to the celebration.

If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath or think you may have been in contact with somebody who has Covid-19 we ask you please do not attend.
