Obituary for Suzanne Overbaugh
Lakeside - Suzanne Overbaugh, 68, passed away on December 17, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of William Overbaugh of 45 years. She was born on January 22, 1954 in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late Bernard (Pop) and Martha (Busch) Petronis, formerly of Watertown, CT.
Suzanne enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. She loved her golf cart rides with Larry. During COVID Sue made and gave away hundreds of facemasks. Bill and Sue married on October 22, 1977 after 9 years together.
In addition to her husband, Bill, Sue is survived by; her daughter, Leah Overbaugh and her fiance Ryan Kenefick of Guilford, Connecticut, her beloved friend, Larry Santilli, who Sue cared for for over 30 years, her brother Bernard (Barnyard) Petronis and his wife, Catherine of Chester, CT, her sister-in-law, Rosemary Petronis of Bantam, CT, her brother-in-law, James Overbaugh and his wife, Pam Laverty of Palm Coast, FL, her brother-in-law, David Overbaugh and his wife, Margaret Overbaugh of Murrells Inlet, SC, two foster sisters; Carolyn Bellmay of Bantam CT, and Ruth Ann and her husband Ed MacKenzie of Roanoke, VA, her foster brother, Bill Hunt and his wife Mary of Apache Junction, AZ and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by her sister, Joan Petronis, formerly of Watertown, CT, her brother-in-law, Mark Overbaugh, formerly of Watertown, CT, her foster mother and father, Harvey and Ruth Hunt, formerly of Bethlehem, CT, and her foster sister, Nancy Bellmay, formerly of Thomaston, CT.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11:00am at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
