Obituary for Stuart R. Clem

BANTAM – Stuart R. Clem, 75, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Geer Nursing and Rehab. Center. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Peirce) Clem.

Stuart was born on February 17, 1943, in Stamford, CT, son of the late Peter and Edna (Richall) Clem.

Stuart was raised in Stamford and attended Leicester Jr. College in MA. He was self employed as a painting contractor for over 50 years.

Stuart enjoyed being active in the community. He had served on the Bantam Borough Planning and Zoning Board and was the former Tree Warden in Bantam, where he organized the replanting after the tornado in 1989. He was also a member of the CT Pyrotechnics Association, a volunteer at Lourdes Shrine in Litchfield and was a former Little League Coach.

In addition to his loving wife, Fran, of Bantam, he is survived by his daughter, Mary Erin Clem; his grandson, Kieran Thompson and son-in-law, Benjamin Thompson, all of Lakeside; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Christopher Clem and his brothers, Peter Clem and Roger Clem.

A Mass will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, November 10, in the Grotto Chapel at Lourdes in Litchfield Shrine, 83 Montfort Road, Litchfield. Burial with military honors will be private in Bantam Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
