Obituary

WATERTOWN - Sally (Anderson) Lukos, 86, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 at the Hospital of Special Care.
Sally was born on January 16, 1934 in Washington, Conn. to the late Einar and Dorothy (Cook) Anderson.
Sally grew up in Lakeside, Morris and settled in her beloved home in Watertown for nearly 60 years. She worked for private clients in housekeeping services. Sally was an avid reader and she greatly enjoyed collecting antiques, her garden, cooking, and she also took great pride in her Cook family ancestry and colonial roots along with her Swedish heritage. She enthusiastically prepared for the annual family picnics and gatherings every season. She was happy to see her recipes in the “Cook, Cook Book”. Sally was well known for her homemade jellies, jams and tomato sauce. Every fall she would complain that this was the last year for the sauce, and the end of the next summer would find her in the kitchen over a bubbling pot.
She is survived by two sons, Robert W. Lukos of Watertown and Gregory A. Lukos of Southbury; a brother, Donald Anderson of Lakeside; a sister, Marilyn Bernier of Torrington and many nieces, nephews, cousins and her dear friend, Louise Kenney. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her friend and former husband, Paul William (Bill) Lukos in 2015; her brothers, Henry Anderson in 2019 and William Anderson in 1991; and her sister, Nancy Gilbert in 1999.
Burial will be private in the East Morris Cemetery. A Family Memorial will be held at a later date.

Hi Bob and Greg, I hope you are doing well. I am so saddened by Aunt Sal's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her. We stayed in touch after my mom passed and her voice always calmed me. She was always kind to me and told me i was doing a good job taking care of my mom and that meant the world to me. My Dad and brother Don send their condolences also. She loved you both so much and spoke of you in all of our conversations. She could always make people laugh and I will miss her so much! The stories that her and my mom shared about growing up were so precious. I hope I will never forget! xo

Lukos Family,
Please accept our deepest condolences at this most difficult time. Ms. Lukos was a most wonderful neighbor for all these years. We especially remember the most enjoyable walks she would take with our Mother and other close neighbors as they shared conversation and friendships. The flowers in her yard were always beautiful to see and admire as they reflected her caring nature.
With deepest sympathy,
The Shaw Family
