Richard (Dick) Barbour Hudson
Retired from G.E. Aerospace
HARWINTON, CONNECTICUT – Richard (Dick) Barbour Hudson, 75, of Harwinton, Connecticut passed away peacefully on June 30, 2020 at Valerie Manor in Torrington. He was a devoted and loving husband to the late Evelyn (Taylor) Hudson for 55 years.
Dick, a longtime resident of Connecticut, was born on September 30, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Shirley (Barbour) Hudson. He was a graduate of Milford High School in Milford, Connecticut, and studied Engineering at the University of New Haven. Dick was a self-made man, and through perseverance, hard work, and determination he attained success as an engineer for 44 years in Aviation and Aerospace. He worked on Jets, Satellites and was proud to be part of the Cassini Spacecraft Project. Dick also worked several years as an engineer for Dresser Industries, Westport Development, and ultimately retired from G.E. in the Aerospace Division.
Dick loved nature and being outdoors, especially spending time around his beautiful backyard pond. He also enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, and golfing. He and Evelyn made many memories with family at their summer home on Rushford Lake in Rushford, New York. Dick also built several observatories as he had a special interest in astronomy. He loved his dogs, Bonnie, Jessie, and Mindy.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Poley (Mark), his son John Hudson, and his two special cousins: Pam Shanahan (Denny) and Paul Clinton (Kathy).

Graveside services will be held for both Dick Hudson and Evelyn Hudson on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at West Cemetery, in Harwinton, Connecticut.
