Obituary for Michael Joseph Church
Litchfield - Michael Joseph Church, 82, passed away peacefully on the early morning of November 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Betty Church for 54 happy years. Michael was born on June 22, 1940 in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late Michael Joseph Sr. and Ellen (Kenny) Church.
Michael was known to his family as the best man any of them have ever known. He was an amazing husband, father, grandad, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was the best of men: kind, compassionate, humble, loyal, funny, and the voice of reason. Michael loved his family fiercely and they loved him back the same way. He will be missed every single day, but he is at peace and once again healthy in mind, body and spirit. The family is at peace knowing Michael is being welcomed into heaven by family and old friends.
In addition to his wife, Betty, Michael is survived by his two daughters; Jennifer Fernandez and Christy Concilio, his son-in-law Jon Concilio, and his five grandchildren; Thatcher, Sawyer, Campbell, Marisa and Zach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow the burial.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, for Parkinson’s Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
