Obituary for Mary Abigail Riccucci

Torrington

Mary Abigail (Bean) Riccucci, a long-time resident of Torrington, Connecticut, died on April 26, 2021 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family, at the Torrington home of her daughter and caretaker, Diana Gelfond and her husband, Ira. Mary was born the middle child of 13 siblings on May 13, 1938 in Melrose, Massachusetts to Mr. Malcom Russell Bean and Mrs. Lillian Vianna (Knight) Bean. In addition to her daughter, Diana, Mary is survived by her son, David Riccucci and wife Sharon of Torrington; her grandchildren Timothy and Anthony Riccucci, Justin Clark, Angela Clark and fiance Parker Kirk, Maegan Clark, and her great grandchildren, Leila Riccucci, Michael Cannales and Theodore Clark. She is also survived by her siblings Joyce Leeman and Grace Cass of California, Bradford Bean and his wife, Ruth, of New York, Robert Bean and his wife Linda, of Oregan and Donald Bean of North Carolina, as well as by many nieces and nephews and her good friend, Carol Riccucci.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son, Bradford, her siblings Malcom, Albert, Dorothy Graham, George, Kenneth, Miriam, and Stanley and her former husband Paul Riccucci.

Mary was a 30-year employee of a nursing home in Torrington, formerly known as Adams House nursing home. Mary loved to read and keep up on current news and politics. She was very kind and generous to all her close family members and she will always be greatly loved and missed.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A memorial service will begin at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery in Torrington.
