Obituary for Mary Pipa
Mary Louise Pipa (Sweeney) of 135 Calhoun Street, Torrington, Ct. passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 1, 2021.
She was born in Winsted, Ct. on March 7, 1940 to the late Clarence E. Sweeney and Mary Bagnaschi Sweeney. She was predeceased by her husband Carl J. Pipa, and daughters Debra Ann Decker and Patricia Louise Palma.
Mary lived most of her life in Torrington, and also lived in Florida for 15 years. Mary worked for Pitney Bowes and Cigna Insurance for many years. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mary is survived by her three sons, Harold Decker of Miami Beach, Florida, Christopher Decker of Inglis, Florida and Mark Decker of Torrington, two grandsons, Joshua Decker of Winsted, Ct. and Quenton Palma of Terrell, Texas, four great grandchildren; her sister, Gloria Newth; her brothers, Edward Sweeney and Richard Sweeney and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9 at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, 863 South Main Street, Torrington. Calling hours will be on Monday, November 8th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
