Obituary for Lucille Pecha

LITCHFIELD – Lucille K. (Kalvaitis) Pecha, 100, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen P. Pecha.

Born in Waterbury on April 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes B. (Dubauskas) Kalvaitis. She was raised in Waterbury where she graduated from Wilby High School.

Lucille worked for many years in food service for the Region 6 & Litchfield school districts. She was an avid reader of mystery books. She especially loved the Miss Marple series from her favorite author Agatha Christie. Lu was a soft-spoken woman & a great cook, always making sure there was a home cooked meal on the table at dinnertime. She truly enjoyed having family & friends visit to talk about the old days. A favorite time of hers was when people came to celebrate her centenarian birthday. She loved seeing everyone!

She is survived by her sons, Stephen J. Pecha and his partner Greg Upland of Wisconsin, David P. Pecha of Litchfield and his wife Cheryl, and John E. Pecha and his wife Marie Elena of Warren; her grandchildren, Alex Pecha & fiancé Julia Miller of Albany, NY., Amelia Pecha of Warren, and Katy Libby & her partner Damien Davis along with great-granddaughter Jasmine Bright, from Cornwall Bridge. She also leaves behind many nieces & nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at St. Anthony Cemetery, Whites Wood Road, Litchfield. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Litchfield Ambulance Association.
