Obituary for Lucian Timothy Stroker

Lucian Timothy (Tim) Stroker went with the angels on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019 surrounded by the loving women in his life. Tim was born Oct. 28, 1960, son of the late John W. and Marie Stroker. He worked as the Service Manager for Crowley Chrysler in Bristol for the last 27 years.

Tim was a teddy bear of a man who would throw his arms around you and give the kind of hugs everyone yearns for; a man so comfortable with himself, he could easily accept everyone else for who they were, with no judgments. Tim was happiest on a beach, or a boat, with a fishing pole in one hand and a cold brew in the other, along side the people he loved. Or standing at his grill cooking up a storm for friends and family with food from the bountiful gardens he lovingly grew. He was the kind of friend that we all hope we have at least once in our lives.

With a great big capacity for life and living, Tim was a warrior to the end, fighting valiantly to beat the cancer that ultimately took him from us and from this earth.

He is survived by his best friend, partner, soul mate, wife of 37 years Cheryl, daughter Lindsey and her fiancé Mary Mathews, son Spencer and partner Sarah Carroll, his new granddaughter Layla, siblings Laurie Churchill, Chris Stroker and wife Betty, Lisa Stroker and husband Ron Remondino, sister-in-law Karen Mandes and brother-in-law Spiro Mandes, nieces and nephews Eric Stroker, Calista Remondino, Zoe and George Mandes; and his lifelong friends, and friends who wish they’d been lucky enough to know him their whole lives long. He was predeceased by his brother Gary Stroker.

The family wishes to give Thanks to the wonderfully caring team at Yale New Haven Smilow Cancer Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
