Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother

Litchfield – Loretta Jane Koser, 84, passed away on Christmas Eve at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the widow of the late John Koser Sr. Loretta was born in Litchfield, Connecticut on October 27, 1936 to the late John Sr. and Laura (Harrison) Simoncelli.

Loretta was a loving mother and mother-in-law. She was the best grandmother “Mema” and great grandmother especially to her own grandkids but also so many other children. She looked forward to meeting with the Cotton Top Club, which consisted of her brothers, sisters and sister-in-law, twice a week for coffee and sweets at her home. She loved singing and dancing, it was her mission to make people happy. Loretta was still active up until recently, she was still swinging with her great granddaughter at 84 years old.

Loretta is survived by her four children; Diana Bennett (Bill), John Koser Jr., Linda Weik (Peter) and Kim Fischer (Eddie), three grandchildren; John Bennett (Kate), Noah Weik and Kristina Fischer (Trevor), her great granddaughter, Hailey Bennett, five siblings; Ethel Gemino, Russell Simoncelli, Marion Colucci, Anthony Simoncelli and Jeanette Fretts, many nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law, Joanne (Ronald ) Filippini and Susanne Casadei. She was predeceased by her three siblings; John Simoncelli Jr., George Simoncelli Sr. and Lillian Waite.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
