Obituary for Kristine T. Thoma (Vreeland)
MORRIS - Kristine (Vreeland) Thoma, 52, passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2021, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the loving wife of Deak Thoma.
Kristine was born in Norwalk, Conn., on June 28, 1969.
Kristine worked as a buyer/planner for Cooper Surgical for 20 years and retired from there last year. She was very active in her community and was currently serving on the Morris Board of Finance, Planning and Zoning and Sewer Committees. She regularly volunteered at the First Congregational Church of Litchfield Book Store and was currently working at Litchfield Family Chiropractic in Litchfield. Kristine was the Treasurer for the East Morris Lane Street Association and donated blood regularly. She enjoyed long motorcycle rides, kayaking and taking care of her pets.
In addition to her husband, Deak; Kristine is survived by her father, Al Vreeland, of Litchfield; her sister, April Blasavage and her husband, Matt of Litchfield; her nephews, Matthew Blasavage Jr. and Justin Blasavage and his wife, Sarah, all of Litchfield; and his niece, Jessica Rung and her husband, Robert of Jacksonville, FL.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 27 at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Funeral service and burial will be private.
