Katherine Laniewski, 72, of Bristol, formerly of Litchfield passed away November 20th after a brief illness.

Kathy was born June 22, 1947 and grew up in Litchfield, daughter of James and Marion Ferris. Kathy spent the bulk of her career in communications at SNET and Comsat. Kathy took a break from working to raise her daughter and spent much time volunteering in the community on various committees. She was a former member of the Junior Women's Club of Litchfield. After moving to Pennsylvania briefly to aid in the care of elderly family she returned to spend time with her grandchildren.

Kathy was an avid hiker and explorer and truly treasured the time she spent with her grandsons on their adventures in her retirement.

Kathy is survived by her sister Janet (Wayne) Richard and her nieces, Linda (David) Hughes and Melanie (Keith) Picz and her nephew Peter Richard.

Kathy is also survived by her daughter Margaret (David) Prahm of Thomaston and her grandsons, Brady and Benjamin Prahm. She was predeceased by her husband James D. Laniewski.
