Obituary for Joseph Veillette

MORRIS - Joseph “ Sepp” Veillette, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, at Hartford Hospital on Monday December 27, 2021.
He was the husband of 49 years of Kateri (Dusek) Veillette. Sepp was born in Dornheim, Germany on August 18, 1951 to Josef and Rosa (Barth) Anger and at twelve years old, was adopted and raised by Joseph A. Veillette.

Sepp was a well-known painter and wallpaper hanger and a true craftsman. He was a very talented soccer player who set and held records at Wamogo Regional High School. He was also a champion horseshoe player for the Town of Morris and an avid fisherman. He was absolutely the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather that we could ever ask for. His girls were always his number one. He will be remembered by all as a great friend who was always there to give a helping hand. He was a true legend.

In addition to his wife Kateri, Sepp is survived by his three daughters; Janelle V. Skilton, Stacy A. Veillette and Corinne V. Wolff and her husband Ben Wolff, a granddaughter, Miranda K. Skilton and her fiancé, Michael Flanagan, a great-granddaughter, Thea Flanagan, a step great-grandson, Leo Flanagan, and his beloved dog Willis. He is also survived by three brothers; Werner (Sue), Walter (Sue) and Reinhard, three sisters; Christel (Ulrich), Rosalinda and Sonya (Peter), numerous nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Kay Breakell (Fred). He was predeceased by three brothers; Alfred, Gunther and Roland and three sisters; Else, Hilde and Maryanne.

Calling hours will be Monday, January 3, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT. The family has requested that all visitors wear a mask. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please bring a non-perishable food item to the funeral home for donation to a local food bank.
