Obituary for John Anthony De Lello

John Anthony De Lello, aged 49 of Morris, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on July 5, 1970 in Yonkers, NY. He began his career in Denver, CO as a mechanic and then over the last 20 years as the owner of Delware Software Solutions. On March 21, 1998, he married Alison Bennett in Worksop, England. Residing in Morris, CT for the last 18 years, they raised two sons, Ryan and Joshua. John was a well-known figure in the community and served on the Region 6 Board of Education from 2013 to 2015 and as a volunteer with Tri Town Little League.

John’s biggest love was being a father and husband. He loved nothing more than cheering on his sons at their sporting events, rarely missing a game. John was happiest spending time practicing soccer, baseball and basketball with his sons in the back yard. He enjoyed watching Premier league soccer and attending Yankees games. He recently found the recipe for happiness was watching The Great British Bake off with his great British bride, Alison. He loved to travel with his family - spending summers boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, road tripping across the US, and most recently to Cancun. He passed along his love for cars to his son Ryan and they could be found working alongside one another on Ryan’s Mustang in the garage. John’s spent many happy hours with his son Josh whether it was casting their lines fishing or pitching for batting practice. He would find any excuse to spend time with his boys. He was an avid reader and writer and will be remembered for his quick wit, his boundless energy, his generous spirit and welcoming presence.

John is survived by his wife Alison and their children, Ryan and Joshua. He will be missed by his parents John and Lillian De Lello of Manchester NJ, his sister Maria & brother-in-law Michael Ross of Raleigh, North Carolina, sister Gina & brother-in-law Richard Corrado of Hopewell Junction NY, Uncle Paul De Lello of Dover Plains, NY and Aunt Amelia Tobin of Wingdale, NY as well as nieces, nephews and a community of friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, January 12th at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road in Litchfield from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a service of remembrance at 3 p.m. A gathering will follow at the Litchfield Community Center at 421 Bantam Road in Litchfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to CFC or Tri Town Youth Baseball, PO Box 2, Litchfield CT 06759.
