Obituary for JoAnn Constance Halloran
MORRIS - JoAnn C. Halloran, 84, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019. She was the loving and beloved wife of John P. Halloran for 62 years.
JoAnn was born in Waterbury on October 2, 1934, daughter of the late Stephen and Lena (Swiderski) Kawecki. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and St Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as an RN.
JoAnn enjoyed the many years she worked at the James Morris School as their Dental Assistant and later as the town and school’s librarian. She retired after 40 years of service.
The original “soccer mom”, JoAnn spent a great deal of her time during her 5 children’s early years attending many, many, many games, recitals, matches, meets, plays, banquets and events, always providing drinks and snacks for her children, their coaches and teammates. No small feat in that only 8 years separate her children from oldest to youngest.
In addition to her husband, John; she is survived by four sons and a daughter, Michael Halloran and his wife Nancy Sarra of New Britain, Mark Halloran and his wife Charlene of Morris, Stephen Halloran and his wife Janet Mann of Fernandina Beach, FL., Sharon Curry and her husband Stephen of Morris and James Halloran of Morris,; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 9th, at Our Lady of Grace Church, 715 Bantam Road, Bantam. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations in JoAnn’s memory may be made to St. Louis de Montfort Parish, P.O. Box 97, 49 South Street, Litchfield, CT 06759.
