James Plesent Valentine (Jim), of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Goshen, CT, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on June 12th, 2022, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his wife Sandra (Koch) Valentine, and his brother Roger Valentine.
Jim was born on May 23rd, 1937, in New Hartford, CT to Mildred and Plesent Valentine. He was the long-time owner of Jim’s Garage in Torrington, CT. During his retirement Jim spent his winters in Fort Myers, FL. He liked to travel and journeyed throughout the US, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Jim leaves behind his long-time partner Marie Murphy of Torrington, CT, and their loving dog Rusty; his sister-in-law Madeline Valentine of Wallingford, CT, his sister-in-law Linda (Koch) Fedun, and his brother Anthony and sister-in-law Lois Orie of New Hartford CT. Jim also leaves his six children, James D. Valentine, and his late wife Judy Valentine, of Torrington CT; Roger Valentine of Norfolk CT; Bob and Deb Valentine of Goshen CT; Kirt and Tammie Valentine of Goshen CT; Nancy and Anthony Russo of Winchester CT; and Barbara Valentine of Morris CT; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Burial and services will be held privately. There will be no calling hours.
