Obituary for James Howard Ostrander
James Howard Ostrander, 76, passed away on January 15, 2022 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. He was born on November 17, 1945 in Torrington, Connecticut to the late Robert E. and Katherine F. Ostrander.
Jim attended the Bantam School System until 1955. He then attended Southwest Elementary School and graduated from Torrington High School in 1964. Jim worked as a health care provider at Valerie Manor in Torrington, Connecticut for 10 years before his retirement in 1999.
Jim was a member of the VVA, VFW, American Legion and an early member of the Torrington Drag Racing Team (Kurrter Klan).
He is survived by his niece, Marcy Ostrander of Litchfield, Connecticut.
The family would like to thank the staff at Litchfield Woods for the many years of compassionate care. Jimmy thought of them as his family.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 12:00pm at Hillside Cemetery, 76 Walnut Street, Torrington.
