Washington - Hollis Clark passed away in her home with her family and loving caregivers close at hand. She was a wonderful wife, a caring mother and a fabulous grandmother. She loved hosting family gatherings, dinner parties and enabling people to get together in her wonderful home.

Hollis Clark’s biggest passion was tennis. She met her future husband the summer she was 16 on a tennis court and they continued to play together until they were 88 years old. She was married to Ted Clark for 69 years and they shared a life in New York City and Connecticut. Her ancestors bought land in Washington, Connecticut in 1738 and when she returned to the original homestead she became a full time resident of the town, active in Steep Rock Land Preserve, Greenwoods Counseling, Gunn Museum and Library and many other organizations. At the age of 45 she went to Columbia University and got a masters in social work and had her most satisfying job at New York Hospital where she mostly worked with AIDS victims. It was the job where she could use her ability to empathize.

She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Ted Clark and her daughter Julie Clark Goodyear and her son-in-law Zach Goodyear. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenyon and Marion Clark, her grandsons; Trevor and Justin Goodyear, their wives; Alia and Chiara, and four great grandchildren; Luca, Rafe, Tessa and Miranda Goodyear.
