Obituary for Frank J. Federico Jr.

Frank J. Federico Jr.
Frank Federico
Goshen - From New Orleans, LA to Gloucester, MA, to Clearwater, FL to Goshen, CT, Frank Federico often took “the road less traveled by”. On Monday, July 30, 2018, Frank made his last journey on that road.

A renowned and talented artist, Frank had many credits garnishing his career. In 1983 he was awarded “Artist of the Year” for Pinellas County (FL) and in 2013 Hall of Fame Honoree for the Pastel Society of America. His paintings have been exhibited in several states as well as Brunei, Stockholm and Tokyo. He conducted workshops domestically and abroad, as well as teaching classes and giving demonstrations. He also wrote articles for several art publications. Frank was known as a colorist and was an advocate of “diversity in art”. He was greatly inspired by nature and its capriciousness.
Frank was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 3, 1928 to Mildred (Voorhees) Federico and Frank J. Federico, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army as an MPl in Japan during the Occupation after World War II.
Frank is survived by his wife Cheryl (Atwater) Federico and their Scottish Terrier, MacKenzie.

He is also survived by his three children, Sharron Federico, Debra Federico and Kevin Federico, two sisters, Marie Federico and Nora Hanford, and a brother Albert Federico as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Gregory Federico.

A “Life Celebration” and belated 90th Birthday Party is planned for the near future. Memorials may be donated to a charity of choice.
