Obituary for Francis N. Jacovino Sr.

SARASOTA, FL – Francis N. Jacovino, Sr., 90, formerly of Litchfield, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2022 in Sarasota, FL. He was the devoted husband of the late Beatrice (Santopietro) Jacovino.

Born on December 3, 1931 in Waterbury, Conn., he was the son of the late Nicola and Teresa Jacovino of Compobasso, Italy and Waterbury, Conn.

Frank was a graduate of Crosby High School and went on to earn his Chartered Life Underwriter and Registered Investment Advisor designations as well as many other financial licenses, certifications and accolades.

Upon graduating high school, Frank joined the Navy and proudly served during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Waterbury where he built a successful business with his wife, Beatrice, retiring in 2012 at 80 years old. He was proud and thankful for the opportunity he had to grow wealth and provide secure retirements for his many clients and friends. He was an avid golfer, fan of sports, especially the Yankees, traveled frequently, read many, many books and was also a fabulous dancer.

After losing his wife, Beatrice, Frank retired to Sarasota to be closer to his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters. He spent many years enjoying the Florida sun and golfing, with many days spent at amusement parks, zoos, school events and church events with his granddaughters (Grandpa went everywhere with them.) He was known by all for his love of good food, good drink and always a good joke. A true gentleman who put his family and God above all else.

He is survived by his son, Francis Jacovino, Jr. of North Port, FL; his daughters, Valerie Romaniello and her husband Nick Romaniello, of Sarasota, FL and Nicole Jacovino; his two beloved granddaughters, Alexa Romaniello and Olivia Romaniello, both of Sarasota, FL. In addition to his loving wife, Beatrice, Frank was predeceased by his sister, Rose Mastandrea and his brother, Alfred Jacovino.
