Obituary

Edward B. “Doc” Wray, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. He was born on, January 30, 1946 in New Haven, CT, son of the late Dr. Edward and Mary Anna (Berdan) Wray. His early life was spent in Litchfield where his father served the community as a doctor. He also lived in the Morris area, eventually making Bantam, CT his home.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Hull) Wray of 19 years and his 5 fur babies (Misty, Callie Anne, George, Bella Louise and Mr. Magoo). He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motorhome with their cats, especially to their favorite locations including Myrtle Beach, Florida, Alabama, and Cape Cod. Disney visits with family were especially cherished.
Beneath his often gruff exterior, Doc was a big teddy bear. He always offered a sympathetic ear to friends and strangers alike. A jack-of-all-trades, Doc’s many occupations included Welder, Asphalt Reclaimer, Rock Crusher, and Dredge Operator at Bantam Lake. He was a member of the Local Union 478 of the Operating Engineers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bantam Sunshine Club, the Bantam Ambulance, or the Bantam Fire Department.
Please join family and friends for an informal remembrance for Doc on Sunday, August 2, 2020, from 2-5 pm at the Bantam Fire House. Observance of COVID-19 guidelines are requested.
