Obituary for Donald Raymond Schultz

Donald (Shorty) Schultz, 70, Kent, Ct. died unexpectedly on July 12, at Danbury Hospital. He was the son of the late Fred and Marjorie (Schnell) Schultz of Bantam. He left behind, his life –long partner of 47 years, Gloria (Peanut) Scribner. He was born in New Milford, Ct., Feb. 3, 1949, and grew up in Bantam, Ct. After living there for most of his life, he moved to Kent, Ct. He worked for Portanova in Waterbury, CT. as a fork lift diver for the trains for many years. Then he worked as a grounds keeper/maintenance, at The Kent School, Kent, Ct., before his retirement in 2016. In addition he worked many years at the True Value in Kent, Ct.
He loved to go fishing, hunting and mowing his lawn. Shorty and Peanut travelled to Cape Cod on vacation, for many years; a place they loved very much. They also loved watching the Mets, in good years and bad. He also leaves behind two sisters and two brothers, Betty Moore of Naugatuck, Ct, Helen Schultz of Torrington, CT and Chuck Schultz, of Port Richey Fl. and Jim Schultz of Torrington Ct.. Two daughters Karen & Pat Beatty of Sherman, Ct., Joann Marsh and Dave Pechaski of Warren, Ct., and a beloved grandson, Chad Beatty & Kelly Beatty, of Sherman, Ct. and other nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the Kent Ambulance/Fire Dept., Kent, Ct.
