Obituary for Donald Robert MacKinnon
LITCHFIELD – Donald R. MacKinnon, 86, passed away on December 11, 2019 at Geer Nursing following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Karen (Millard) MacKinnon.
Donny was born on October 20, 1933 in Springfield, MA, son of the late Norman MacKinnon and Anita DelCino MacKinnon. He very proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper in Germany. He worked for most of his life for Walter Korn Tree Service.
He is survived by four sons; Scott, Stuart, Kevin and Norman MacKinnon, seven grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, sister-in-law, Janice Centrella-Fumire, brother-in-law, Leroy Millard and his wife Joyce and four nieces; Jamie, Jodie, Suzie and Sandie.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am, on Thursday, December 19, at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A brief service will begin at 11:30 am. Burial, with Military Honors, will be held in the spring.
