Donald Grover, 87, passed away on January 1, 2021 in Lewisville, Texas. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Selma Grover. Donald was born on January 6, 1933 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Donald and Jane Grover.

He attended Litchfield Schools as well as Trade Schools. He was an operator of Heavy equipment, retiring from Operating Engineers Union, Local 478, after over 30 years of service. Donald served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He was a longtime member and officer of American Folk Musicians Association (AFMA) and the American Legion, Post 44. Donald loved nature and enjoyed traveling and was skilled at creating beautiful pieces of furniture.

Donald is survived by his two sons; Sam Grover (Debbie) of Torrington, Connecticut and David Grover of Edgewood, Texas, his daughter Sylvia Belanger (Patrick) of The Colony, Texas, his cousin Jane (Cookie) Robison and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, 76 Walnut Street, Torrington.
