Obituary for Diane Marie Sheldon (King)

Diane Sheldon passed away Sept. 22 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital after a brief illness. Born Aug. 27, 1948 in Winsted, she was the daughter of Robert King and Betty [Huften] King. She lived in Bantam most of her life and attended Litchfield Schools.

She leaves her loving husband of 56 years Richard “Dick” Sheldon, a daughter Kathleen Koenig and son-in-law John of Savannah Georgia, a son Richard Alan Sheldon of Winsted, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is survived by a sister, Margaret Leavenworth and her husband Bruce of Bantam and was predeceased by a brother, Robert and a sister, Cheryl.

Diane was an avid reader and a talented quilter and seamstress. She loved making clothes and quilts for new family arrivals.

A celebration of life will be held on November 6, 2022 from 2 to 4 at the Bantam Fire Company, 92 Doyle Rd. In the
spirit of the joyful celebration of a life well lived, attendees are asked to wear cheerful, comfortable clothes and bring a smile.
