Obituary for Dennis Paul Meeker Jr.

Dennis Paul Meeker Jr., 40, of Bantam, CT passed away on December 31, 2018.

“Little Den” was born in New Milford, CT on December 15, 1978. He was raised in Bantam, CT and attended James Morris School, Litchfield Public Schools, and graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School. After graduating, he went on to be a volunteer firefighter and EMT, and worked for Campion Ambulance for several years. Most recently he was working construction with his father for Mastrobattista Inc., which he loved. He was currently working on a bachelor’s degree in biology at Bridgeport University.

Den loved helping people and was always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. He loved animals and got so much happiness out of spending time with his two dogs Tucker and Daisy.

He loved cooking, reading, and being out on the softball field. Dennis enjoyed taking fishing trips with his friends and working on cars. He had the most amazing memory, and could recall anything he had ever read or learned. He always had a smile on his face and a story to make you laugh. He loved his family and friends immensely.

He leaves his mother and father, Dale and Dennis Meeker, his sisters Destinee and Devan Meeker and Camille Richards. He also leaves aunts and uncles, Melissa and Michael Roller, Jennifer and John Roller, Linda and John Meeker, Wendy and Jimmy Belanger and Robert Fedell, as well as many cousins. He was predeceased by his Paternal grandparents Sheldon and Anne Meeker, and Maternal grandparents William and Doris Roller and Uncle Billy Roller.

A celebration of Den’s life will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 1 – 4 p.m. at Tavern Off the Green located at the Litchfield Inn. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road in Litchfield. A prayer service will begin at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Bantam Fire Department, or an animal rescue of your choice.
