Clay James Miles

SOUTH KENT - Clay James Miles, 60, passed away suddenly on March 8, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Born in Sharon, on December 5, 1959 he was one of nine children of the late Joseph and Shirley Mae (Brizzie) Miles.

Clay was a very hardworking and generous man. He enjoyed working as a backhoe operator for Gawel Excavating for over 35 years. He wasn’t afraid to speak his thoughts and once he set his mind to something, he always followed through.

Clay had a passion for antique cars and loved to restore them. He was a huge fan of classic country music and enjoyed going to car shows.

Clay is survived by his son, Tom Miles; his daughter, Sabra Rosenbeck; his grandchildren, Cooper, Logan and Gracie Mae Miles and Lucas and Avery Rosenbeck; his seven siblings, Joe Miles of Seattle, Wash., Randy Miles, Stacy Miles, Priscilla Olmstead, all of Kent, Robin Fredericks of Danbury, Holly Waldron of Lakeville and Dana Lindner of New Milford; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Julie McKenna.

Memorial service and burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, March 18 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Kent, 97 N Main St, Kent.
