Obituary for Cheryl Nelson
Torrington – Cheryl I. Nelson, 65, passed away on March 9, 2021 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Howard Nelson. Cheryl was born on November 2, 1955 in Torrington, Connecticut to the late Robert and Betty King.
She was raised in Bantam and attended Litchfield Schools. Cheryl was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.
She is survived by her two sisters, Diane Sheldon (Richard) of Bantam and Margaret Leavenworth (Bruce) of Bantam; her two sons, Sean Barto of Torrington and Joshua Nelson (Samantha) of Torrington; her stepson, Michael Nelson (Brenda) of Torrington; two stepdaughters, Julie Nelson of Torrington and Ella Meach of Florida; her beloved cat, Marcus; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 441 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT 06759 on Sunday, March 28th at 3:00pm. Burial will be at the family’s convenience.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 441 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT 06759 or an animal shelter of your choice.
