Obituary for Charles Hugo Keller

Charles Hugo Keller died October 22nd at Bristol Hospital after a brief illness. Born October 11, 1945, he was the oldest son of the late Frank and Charlotte Keller. He grew up in Oneida, NY, graduating from Oneida High School in 1963. After school he enlisted in the US Air Force, serving two tours of duty in Istanbul, Turkey. As a youth he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and later served as scout master to enlisted men’s sons in Turkey.

After discharge from the service he lived in Norfolk, Virginia before moving to Connecticut in 1975. Over the years Charlie worked in a number of manufacturing jobs in Litchfield and Torrington. Later in life he enjoyed traveling with his partner Carolyn and her family, enjoying many trips to Maine, New Hampshire, Outer Banks and Key West.

He is survived by his life partner and best friend, Carolyn Nelson; his children, Dawn Keller, Kimberly Keller and Jacob Keller; his brothers, Frank, Bill, and Jim Keller, and his sister, Jean Evangelisti; the Nelson family, Kristen, Kim, and Kari; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
