Obituary for Anthony Francis Aquilino

Winsted - Anthony “Skitch” Aquilino, 93, passed away on January 21, 2022 at Brandywine in Litchfield. He was born on July 12, 1928 in Winsted, Connecticut to the late Daniel and Angelina Aquilino.
Skitch attended St. Anthony School and graduated from Gilbert High School in Winsted, Connecticut. He served in the United States Army and worked for the State of Connecticut DMV. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in Winchester and a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Skitch is predeceased by his brother Daniel Aquilino. He is survived by his sister, Carmela “Mitzi” Cappello of Litchfield and many extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Skitch was a kind, caring, generous man, a true gentlemen. He loved his family very much, and was always there to help. He enjoyed life on Rock Street of Winsted in the family home for 90 years. Skitch was known for his cannolis and bread making. He enjoyed the many family gatherings, picnics at cousin Franny’s house, Yankee baseball, Packard cars, and the many rides with cousin Jimmy. His daily calls, little jokes, and sweet smile will be missed. Riposare in pace.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Winsted.
