Obituary for Alfred Joseph Latour
Alfred Joseph Latour, 89, passed away on February 3, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Elliot (Snow) Latour.
Alfred was born on October 2, 1929 in Corona, Queens, NY. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War.
He worked as a carpenter, bee keeper and gardener and served on the Woodcock Planning and Zoning Commission. An avid hunter, he also enjoyed camping, walking together with Ruth, gardening, RVing, fishing and racing for the NY Yacht Club. He was also an avid reader and Jeopardy expert. He moved to Huntington, NY, Commack, NY and then to PA before recently moving to Bantam.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by his son, Stephen Remy Latour; his daughter-in-law, Nancy Latour; his grandchildren, Jacob Alfred Latour of CA, Lindsay Katherine (Latour) Carrier of CA, Gavin Francis Remy Latour of FL, Allyssa Renee Latour of GA and Sophia Anna Latour of CT. and two great-grandchildren, Lucas Carrier and Madeline Carrier.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be private in Canada.
