Alice Shumway Kilbourn passed away Monday, April 18th at her home surrounded by the family she cherished. Mrs. Kilbourn was born Alice Merriman Shumway in Waterbury, Connecticut, December 1, 1919. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Richard, daughter, Deborah, sister, Ellie and brother, Robert. Alice graduated from Crosby High and attended Pratt Institute where she received a certificate as a dietician. She worked briefly in the field before marrying Richard Kilbourn on December 30, 1945 and taking on the full time task of raising their family. She is survived by two daughters, Susan and Patricia, two sons, David and John, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A private graveside ceremony will be held for family members. Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, PO Box 449, Bantam, CT 06750.
